“Together” This one word encapsulates the essence of what we call Christmas. Outside of the City of David, in a town called Bethlehem, Heaven and Earth met when Jesus left the glory of Heaven to live in the dust of the earth. God who spoke the stars into existence — lay under them. He who commanded the angels — was comforted by them. God who owns everything — was laid in a borrowed feeding trough. This is the mystery and wonder of Christmas: ‘God with us.’”
In Christ, God stepped into our story. He took on our humanity so that He could redeem it. He entered our world so that we could enter His.
